How to change Android Chrome browser color to match with your site

Ever came across some websites which once opened on your mobile changes the browser color to match with the layout and color scheme of the site? and wondered if you could also do this with your site ? and make it look more like a native app instead of a traditional website.

Well, it is quite possible using a small line of code into your WordPress website.

NOTE: Currently this code only works with Google Chrome browser ( ver 39 or higher ) using Android Lollipop or higher.

How to change browser color as per site layout:

To do this, put following line of code into your Header.php ( Site Theme OR Child Theme ) just before closing </head> tag.

<meta name=”theme-color” content=”#000000″ />

Change the “#000000” hex value to the color you want your browser to have once you open your site. Hit Save ! and you are done.

Now, refresh the page on your mobile device and you will see the browser color matching your website now.
